Summary

The AVP, Account Management works closely with business development, project management, analytics and marketing colleagues to engage with existing and potential clients, understand their primary research needs, craft quantitative and qualitative research solutions to address those needs, deliver superior client experiences, and ensure profitable business engagements. In this role you will be the senior person and individually responsible for overseeing the execution of research projects and ensuring consistently superior client experiences.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Essential Duties

  • Partner with other AVP, Account Managers, VP, Practice Leaders, and Client Services team members to grow, nurture and develop key client accounts through relationship building and thought leadership/oversight on research project execution
  • Partner with Business Development to meet sales goals for both new and existing clients
  • Partner with the Strategy & Innovation Operations team members to ensure the research deliverables meet client and CMB expectations
  • Act as Subject Matter and Industry expert: Speaking at conferences, webinars, blogs, articles, Consumer Pulse
  • Work with Strategy & Innovation Operations, Sales & Account Management, and P&C to effectively recruit and onboard new talent
  • Ensure a high degree of employee engagement and positive / professionally constructive feedback
  • Partner with VP, Practice Leader to establish and meet goals via a balanced scorecard for the Sales &
  • Account Management team (e.g., sales, client satisfaction, client/product/project profitability, team efficiency, talent mentorship)

Qualifications

  • BA in a related field (e.g. statistics, marketing, market research, business management)
  • 10+ years professional experience
  • 5+ years independently managing multiple custom market research projects
  • Demonstrated management or successful mentoring experience
  • Understanding of CMB best practices, processes, and priorities 
  • Experience delegating, managing and influencing teams and individuals
  • Understanding of complex market research methods
  • Excellent at partnering with project resources and timelines
  • Excellent at managing multiple relationships and priorities
  • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships with clients, vendors and co-workers
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Sense of humor
  • Self-aware
  • A leader

Goals

The AVP, Account Management overall success and variable bonus compensation will be determined based on measured performance against established goals in five areas:

Travel
