The Watertown Department of Public Buildings is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and logistical support to the Director of Public Buildings, monitor assigned programs and projects, and assist with prioritizing and assigning work within the Public Buildings Department. They will maintain records, receive and process work orders, manage the department’s supply and inventory system, prepare written materials, research topics for department, respond to inquiries, and assist with development of annual operating and capital budgets and financial reporting, among other duties.  Knowledge, Ability and Skills:  Knowledge required to perform basic math (calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios). Financial acumen and knowledge of bookkeeping principles. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to team, guide, and coordinate others as well as schedule events, activities, and meetings. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe products.  Organization and planning skills, communication skills, problem analysis and solving skills. Information gathering and information monitoring skills. Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, or facilities management preferred. Minimum of three years applicable work experience. Administrative or program experience in facilities maintenance or operations and maintenance is desirable. SALARY RANGE: $24.09 – $29.85 per hour with excellent benefits.  TO APPLY:      A City of Watertown application form is available at
