The Watertown MA Police Department seeks a CSD Civilian Clerk who will work a standard Monday-Friday, 7:45AM to 3:45PM schedule and serve in a support role to the Division Commander and Sergeant. The position will maintain and file accreditation documents and assist in the preparation for assessments, be responsible for the maintenance of departmental training records, assist in the scheduling of department employees to required trainings, issuance, and the filing of special training orders for such, assist in the maintenance of quartermaster records and inspection reports, conduct the department’s quarterly citizen surveys, assist in the maintenance of state required Peace Officers Standards & Training Commission (POSTC) documentation for certification and recertification of sworn officers, serve in a support role for community policing events and presentations, assist in the identification, research and acquisition of new equipment, technology, and training to support the department’s mission, assist in a support role on other matters involving training, community policing, policy development and the accreditation process, and carry out other similar assigned duties.  

Minimum Required Qualifications: High school diploma (or GED); three years of office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of office practices and procedures; familiarity with laws and regulations affecting department operations. Ability to interact tactfully and appropriately with the general public and city employees; ability to enter data accurately and organize records is of prime importance; ability to work independently; ability to maintain confidential information. Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets; interpersonal skills; planning and organizational skills.

Salary Range Begins:   $48,528 per year plus excellent benefit package.
