The City of Watertown, Department of Public Works, seeks an individual to perform installation, maintenance and repair work relating to the City’s fire alarm, electrical and communications systems, including repairs to fire alarm street boxes and master boxes; installs, maintains and repairs the electrical systems of the City. Maintains and operates the bucket truck, emergency vehicle and safety equipment. Re-lamps and repairs street lights at Municipal parking lots and other sites; City Hall outdoor lighting and scoreboard lighting; repairs municipal electrical equipment. Works under the general supervision of the Chief Electrician; responsible duties require the exercise of technical judgment in performing electrical work.
Required Qualifications; High School or vocational school diploma (or GED) with technical training; experience working with electrical systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with airbrakes endorsement and a clean driving record. Applicants will be required to complete a Criminal Record Release Form, post-offer physical examination and Department of Transportation CDL screening.
SALARY RANGE
BEGINS: $52,994 – $61,435 annually with excellent benefits package, training, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, retirement and deferred compensation, cafeteria plans, employee assistance program and more.
