John A. Ryan Arena is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Shift Supervisor for the Municipal Skating Arena, a department of the City of Watertown. Under the direction of the Municipal Skating Arena Director, the Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the overall operation and supervisor of the skating arena during their designated shift. The shift supervisor to work approximately 10-16 hours per week at the John A. Ryan Arena, primarily on the weekends and during high school hockey events. This position will be responsible in the overall supervision of 1000 seat municipal skating arena, its participants, and patrons. Operation of both Electric and Propane powered Zamboni Ice Resurfacing Machines to ensure quality ice resurfacing for the Arena patrons. Supervision of shift assistants and public skating related personnel during appropriate hours. General maintenance and custodial responsibilities related to daily operation of skating arena.  Including but not limited to general duties related to the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer, cleaning of all team changing rooms, bathrooms, seating areas and common areas as well as outside areas as needed. Maintain arena, building safety, security and other duties as instructed.


Required Qualifications

High School diploma (or GED).  Knowledge of maintenance procedures and custodial work required.   Experience preferred in rink industry.  Must complete C.O.R.I. background investigation.

Hourly wage:   $18.00 – $22.00/hour.  This is a seasonal, part-time, non-benefit eligible position.

Current Shifts: Primarily Saturday & Sunday as well as weekday evenings. Potential for additional shifts as needed.
