About the position:
With its recent rapid growth, JFF is now managing an increasingly complex portfolio of grants and contracts. The Compliance Manager will help to strengthen our grant administration activities across JFF’s Federal contracts and grants and assist the Director of Grant Stewardship to stand up and maintain JFF’s Federal Compliance Program. Specifically, they will partner with the Grants Stewardship team to implement and maintain a holistic and timely workflow from the project kickoff to grant/contract closure. They will support and collaborate across the Grants Stewardship team and other teams in the Finance team.
What you’ll do:
Grant Management
Maintain and manage grants administration processes on federal grants and contracts to ensure a smooth workflow from award through grant/contract closure, with support and guidance from Director, Grants Stewardship.
Support project leaders in subcontractor management, including learning the use of systems to track spending on federal awards aligned to IRS regulations for grants and contracts,
Partner with Grant Stewardship team and project budget owners to track expenditures against budget and keep project team members apprised of budgetary issues and concerns and provide other organizational support.
Risk & Compliance
Work with Director of Grants Stewardship to develop and maintain JFF’s Federal Compliance Program, assist to develop Grants Stewardship policies and procedures, and maintain organization of federal reporting due dates.
Collaborate with program team and Grants Stewardship team to ensure that all grant and contract transactions are reasonable, allowable, and allocable to the project budget, and are recorded properly in the accounting system in accordance with budget terms of the grant/contract, specifically subaward and subcontractor spending.
Relationship Building & Management
Provide support and guidance to program budget owners and seek to improve the budget management experience,
Coordinate grant stewardship team with finance business partners and project leaders to ensure timely and efficient management of project budgets.
Partner internally on process flows that impact Grants Stewardship and participate in departmental and team activities to support the overall financial wellbeing of the organization.
Strategic & Analytical Thinking
Prepare reports and analyze budget data for trends and risk assessment.
Prepare financial reports required by funders, review subaward and subcontractor invoices, review project-specific budget spending, and assist budget owners in budget management.
Who you are:
You possess high energy and passion for JFF’s mission and the ability to apply JFF’s core values to all areas of your work
You have 3-5 years of experience in grants and contracts administration with familiarity of best practices
You have knowledge of current Federal and IRS regulations and requirements related to grants and contracts and expenditures responsibility rules
You’re a strong communicator and are comfortable working with a diverse set of stakeholders, both internally and externally
You seek to provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners, with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
