About the position:  

JFF’s Marketing and Communications team is looking for a Digital Content Writer to join our Editorial Services team which is expanding to promote JFF’s impact during a time of exciting organizational growth. 

Reporting to the Senior Editorial Manager, the Digital Content Writer will be a key contributor to our fast-paced digital marketing operation. The Writer will support in the creation of clear, concise, and engaging copy for high-profile emails, CEO communications, e-newsletters promoting JFF’s work, websites, organic and paid social media, and more.  

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a collaborative environment, is nimble, detail-oriented and able to work on deadline to create on-message content for multiple audiences. This person will work closely with other MarComm team members, including campaign managers, digital managers, project managers and will even have the opportunity to work with our executive team to support content creation.  



What you’ll do:   

Content Creation 

Draft engaging marketing emails, e-newsletters, website copy, organic and paid social media, and more 
Tailor messaging and calls to action to the needs of multiple audiences 
Incorporate SEO best practices into website work 
Welcome feedback from the team and incorporate it to improve final copy 
Relationship Building 

Collaborate with the larger MarComm team as well as our executive team, in support of content creation 
Participate in conversations and discussions with campaign managers, digital managers, and project managers to develop content 
Project Management Support  

Balance a workload that includes multiple assignments on tight deadlines 
Collaborate with team members to align on due dates and timelines 
Partner with project managers to stay on top of projects with multiple components 
Strategic and Analytical Thinking 

Stay engaged and informed about trends and best practices in digital communication 
Consider and contribute ideas about changes in language, style, and messaging 

Who you are:   

You have at least 2 years of professional experience in marketing communications as a digital marketing writer, copywriter, or content writer, ideally with using email marketing and content management systems, such as HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar systems. 
You possess high energy and passion for JFF’s mission and the ability to apply JFF’s core values to all areas of your work. 
You bring a high level of interest in workforce development, postsecondary education, economic development, corporate social responsibility, innovation, or a related field. 
You have a proven track record of writing clear, compelling digital content that entices people to click without using jargon or hyperbole. 
You have high editorial standards for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and know how to adapt the tone of your writing to the purpose of your communication and the needs of your audience. 
You come with knowledge in digital marketing for optimal engagement and open rates, and SEO best practices. 
You welcome strategic direction and feel comfortable suggesting ideas to enhance strategy. 
You are highly organized, a self-starter, and capable of committing to multiple assignments on tight deadlines. 
You have a passion for digital marketing and an interest in growing your experience in communications more broadly.  
You are a collaborative team member with a learning inclination who is willing to pitch in with other editorial tasks as needed while being able to adapt well in a growing team with shifting priorities.
