We are currently hiring multiple Program Managers to support strategic initiatives, events, and communications across a diverse portfolio of projects. Program Managers are considered the engine fuel of JFF’s initiatives, so this is a great opportunity to contribute to our work, develop valuable skills, and work in an equity-centered, innovative, and mission-driven environment. 

Program Managers take pride in providing overall project management support through coordinating with subject matter experts, organizing documents, gathering data, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. They are highly organized, comfortable with research and analysis, and are skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships. Ideal candidates will also be able to navigate ambiguity with flexibility and a commitment to continuously learning and improving.  

Based on the organization’s current needs, and candidates’ skills and interests, you could be embedded into one of the following units: 

Advisory Services/Corporate Solutions: The Solutions team is comprised of consultants, advisors, and designers who are passionate about bringing JFF’s mission and expertise to bear for clients in the learn-to-work ecosystem. With a focus on bridging disparate systems, we adapt research-based solutions for individual client contexts. 
JFFLabs – Insights: The Insights team grows the market for new workforce and education innovations. Working on a variety of topics such as racial economic equity, green jobs, immersive technology, and more—the team scans and analyzes complex markets, highlights innovations, spotlights impact potential and raises awareness of what works. Work Unit: The Work Unit partners with employers, government, education and training providers, industry associations, and others to build and scale effective, high-quality programs. Examples of some of the types of work our team engages in can be found through exploring the impact stories for the Google IT Support Professional Certificate Scaling Initiative and Pathways to Tech Careers as well as our recent research on the Center for Apprenticeship and Work Based Learning

What you’ll do:   

Project and Program Management 

Provide project support to the team including scheduling meetings, crafting and distributing meeting agendas, materials, notes and minutes 
Partner with project leaders to accomplish project goals by monitoring and evaluating project plans, tasks, resources, deadlines, and any post-project needs 
Conduct primary and secondary research to identify and analyze best practices and learnings from various projects 
Stakeholder Engagement 

Build and maintain effective relationships across the team and with internal and external project partners to support ongoing collaboration 
Ensure timely follow-up with partners, coordinating with and drawing in appropriate staff as necessary
Participate in planning and facilitating meetings and events across the team 
Communication and Knowledge Management 

Work with the team to capture and share information on identified needs and strategies implemented 
Document engagements and services to support unit strategies and drive continuous improvement
Prepare a variety of correspondence and documents such as memos, reports, and presentations; take notes and summarize key points addressed at conferences, events and meetings
Contribute to the team’s emerging areas of work by supporting Unit leadership in developing concepts, strategies, practices, and procedures that enhance our work

Who you are:   

You have at least 3 years of relevant experience with exposure to and/or interest in education, workforce, economic development, or other social impact setting 
You have strong project management and organizational skills, can prioritize, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
You are highly skilled at managing up and anticipating the needs of others
You possess excellent research and writing skills, including experience generating reports, proposals, tools, and/or resources
You are a curious and adaptive learner and are able to apply lessons learned through your work to develop new, more effective ways of working with colleagues and stakeholders
You possess keen attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and can synthesize information and structure ideas clearly and concisely for multiple audiences
You are excellent at working both in teams and independently
You possess high energy and passion for JFF’s mission and can apply JFF’s core values to all areas of your work
You model inclusive leadership and work effectively with diverse staff and support building and stewarding an organizational culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion
You contribute to positive, effective, collaborative cultures and teams wherever you work
You demonstrate a growth mindset and desire to continuously improve in your work and approach 
You are able and willing to travel up to 20% (The frequency will vary according to mix of projects. Note: JFF staff travel is currently limited given the evolving context around the COVID-19 pandemic.)
