About the position: 

Reporting to the Associate Director, Workforce Strategy & Planning, the Senior Manager, Employee Experience & Engagement will partner with JFF leadership, including the People & Culture team, to define and execute a vision for employee engagement and the culture we seek to create together.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for creating a positive, fun, values-centric experience for all employees working at JFF by proposing and creating new engagement initiatives, events and activities that cultivate employee belonging and well-being. The primary goal of this role will be to support JFFers to build strong connections with colleagues and have fun at work in addition to ensuring quality execution of overall people strategy including retention. 

The Senior Manager will plan and facilitate existing staff meetings, employee engagement touchpoints and social gatherings (virtual and in-person), including co-leading JFF’s bi-annual All Staff gathering (virtual, in-person or hybrid). 

As a new role on the People & Culture team, the Senior Manager’s work will be connected to and driven by JFF’s people strategy, retention goals, and culture building work. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is energized by designing, implementing and managing employee engagement for an equity-focused, diverse, mission-driven, geographically dispersed, hybrid workforce. The Senior Manager will work most closely with the People & Culture team, the Senior Director of Events, and social ambassadors across the organization.

 

What you’ll do:  

Design & Organize Employee Engagement Activities & Events

  • Design, plan and execute on opportunities for social staff engagement and connection, including but not limited to the management and coordination of the JFF social calendar including regional meet ups, hub city social events, networking events, and virtual and regional social groups and activities (e.g., book club, fitness challenges, annual “dance off” and more)
  • Design, plan and maintain important cultural rituals of celebration and acknowledgement including staff anniversaries, new hire welcomes, promotions and other key milestones
  • Partner with colleagues who are leading our diversity, equity, and inclusion work in order to facilitate JFF’s commitment to DEI
  • Promote and create new initiatives that address the challenges of hybrid work, retention and overall wellbeing
  • Create a cross-functional team of culture ambassadors who can activate JFF values across in their teams and throughout the organization
  • Work with the Senior Analyst, People Data & Systems to check and monitor employee experience and belonging through surveys, employee interviews and more
  • Support aspects of employee wellbeing by partnering with the Director, HR Administration and other key stakeholders
  • Engage employees in fun and connection through meaningful communications via JFF’s social media tools that create awareness of internal and external JFF initiatives, events, and community building

Design & Plan Staff Meetings

  • Serve on the design team for JFF’s bi-annual in-person All Staff Retreat, providing strategic design input that supports JFF’s people strategy and goals to plan the agenda, identify and schedule external speakers, and plan fun, social events during the retreat (both in-person and virtual as needed)
  • Lead project management for the All Staff Retreat, executing various aspects of the pre-meeting planning, in-person logistics, and post-meeting debriefs, partnering with JFF events team
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external speakers to ensure they are set up for success during the retreat
  • Support data collection for staff meetings, including staff anniversaries, role changes/promotions, new hire introductions, etc.
  • Serve as the point of contact for inbound questions from staff about the meeting agendas and travel arrangements

  • You have 3+ years of program management and/or project management experience, including projects requiring cross-functional team alignment
  • You have 3+ years of experience within a team focused on organizational development, employee experience, diversity, equity and inclusion, employee engagement, or events management
  • You have experience effectively partnering with HR and business teams to build best practice HR/talent programs and strategies is a plus
  • You are organized, people-focused, data-driven and calm in the face of competing priorities with a strong customer-service orientation
  • You thrive in a dynamic and changing, growth-oriented environment
