Transportation Planner/Transportation Demand (TDM) Specialist

MASCO is seeking a talented and motivated Transportation Planner/Transportation Demand (TDM) Specialist. MASCO (Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic area (LMA) for the benefit of those who live, work, or receive care in the LMA. The LMA is one of Boston’s busiest and most dynamic neighborhoods and an epicenter of innovation, culture, education, and healthcare.

The primary responsibility of this position is running MASCO’s Transportation Management Association (TMA), CommuteWorks. MASCO established CommuteWorks in 1989, one of the country’s first TMA, to reduce the number of single occupancy vehicle trips and improve air quality through transportation options beyond driving alone.

The position will be managing, developing, and marketing transportation demand management (TDM) programs to incent more walking, biking, carpooling and other environmentally sustainable modes. The role serves as MASCO’s TDM lead through participation in conferences, events and professional organizations, listservs, and research. In addition, the role provides support to the Senior Transportation Planner working on Longwood transportation priorities. This may include data gathering, data analysis, field observations, research, support with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, and other duties as directed by the Senior Transportation Planner.
