The Senior Consultant role is situated within the Mass General Brigham Project Management Office, which reports into the Office of the Chief Operating Officer. This department of internal consultants and project managers partners with senior leadership to identify, prioritize, and drive the implementation of system-wide initiatives that leverage the scale of Mass General Brigham (MGB) to reduce the rate of expense growth, improve patient care, accelerate research and innovation, and educate the next generation of clinicians. Senior Consultants will work closely with senior leadership to drive the development, implementation, and management of complex, high-priority, system-wide initiatives to achieve specific milestones and goals. This will include providing a broad range of analytic, planning, and other management support activities, often across multiple projects simultaneously. We are currently hiring a Senior Consultant to support our newly formed MGB Enterprise Pathology team become the most innovative and renowned laboratory in the country, centralizing laboratory services across the system. The Senior Consultant will lead Pathology projects that enable the delivery of the highest quality, highly integrated, and most effective diagnostic results; drive innovation; and enhance collaboration across the MGB system.

Qualifications

 

·         Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

·         5+ years of experience as a consultant or project manager in a complex multi-faceted organization working with senior level leaders, ideally in healthcare but other industries considered

·         Process improvement skills and/or training preferred

·         Outstanding judgement and discretion in interacting with operational and clinical leaders on political and confidential issues

·         Effective at establishing and managing multiple large-scale, multi-faceted projects simultaneously that require interdepartmental and multi-institutional cooperation 

·         Excellent leadership skills with a strong ability to influence in a matrix organization; able to foster trust and collaboration within all levels of an organization and throughout a complex variety of departments in multiple disciplines

·         Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills: able to gather data, compile information from a variety of disparate sources and manipulate large amounts of data, able to ensure data integrity using quality checks at various points in the process

·         Superior organizational, written, and oral communication skills, ability to present data to both business and clinical constituents in a clear, meaningful, and concise manner

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team

·         Effectively responds to time sensitive issues and meet deadlines; takes ownership and accountability for timeliness, accuracy, and relationship management

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) required, and adept at learning new software applications
