SUMMARY
Position is responsible for a variety of routine and complex clerical, accounting, finance and administrative work in assisting the Treasurer/Collector with the duties and responsibilities of the Treasurer’s Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works under the general direction of the Treasurer/Collector
Provide assistance to the Treasurer/Collector with treasury duties as necessary.
Perform responsible duties working in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Makes frequent contacts requiring courtesy and tact with City departments and employees, health insurers, and regional agencies; makes occasional contact with the general public.
Receives cash receipts from all departments; and enters receipts into computer; assists with month end and fiscal year end processes and reporting. Assists in balancing accounts with the Auditor’s Office.
Performs reconciliation of bank statements for cash receipts each month; balances accounts and other duties as assigned by the Treasurer/Collector.
Prepare monthly reports as assigned.
Oversees the City’s payroll process.
Together with the Human Resources department compile and process fiscal and calendar year W-2 processing, other tax forms, and other government required documentation.
Prepares 941 Quarterly Federal Tax Return and other required reporting as assigned.
Performs other similar or related duties as required and/or assigned.
Processes monthly void/manual payroll warrant and ensures accuracy, completeness and timeliness for City and School.
Continuously looks for improvements in processes and procedures and makes recommendations to the Treasurer/Collector to ensure efficient processing of the City’s payroll and ongoing legislative mandates and statutes.
