he City of Everett is committed to supporting young people in the community to help them learn, grow, and develop by providing a wide variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment opportunities. The City of Everett’s previous Recreation Director position has been redefined to include a broader scope of responsibility to create expanded services for young people. The Director of Youth Development and Enrichment for the City of Everett is responsible for creating, managing, supervising and coordinating various extended learning and recreation programs for the individuals, youth and families of the City.

This role includes oversight of the Samuel Gentile Recreation Center, the City of Everett Health and Wellness Center, and related facilities. In addition, the role requires the person to plan, direct, and supervise the work of full- and part-time staff; manage the Department Budget; facilitate use of resources for community sports organizations and groups; coordinate assigned activities with other City Departments, outside organizations, and the general public.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing an outreach plan to develop community awareness of Youth Development and Enrichment efforts by the City of Everett and other important youth resources offered by community partners. This is a senior level role in the City of Everett that reports directly to the Mayor.
