GBFB is considered an essential response organization in times of disaster. As such, Team Members are expected to report to GBFB locations as required, after securing the safety of their families, and may be asked to perform duties that are critical (but outside of their regularly assigned duties) in times of disaster.


H2HC and Position Summary

The Hunger to Health Collaboratory (H2HC) is an initiative of The Greater Boston Food Bank. H2HC aligns food, health, and policy through an equity lens to advance food and nutrition security for everyone. The Manager reports to the Executive Director and provides administrative, logistical, and strategic support.


Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Manager supports the growth and evolution of H2HC by supporting the administrative, logistical, and strategic operations of the Collaboratory as directed by the Executive Director.


Provide administrative support for a variety of projects and events in collaboration with internal and external partners
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Manage monthly expense reporting
Manage H2HC files and file structure on SharePoint
Schedule meetings; manage calendars
Maintain master contact list in Excel and Constant Contact
Communications (Writing, Design, Research, Analysis, and Reporting)
As directed, help develop, design, and maintain H2HC materials, including presentations, electronic newsletter, slide decks, reports, charts, etc.
Develop and manage content and updates for H2HC website and social media platforms
Support the development and management of potential podcast series
Conduct research, collect data, and draft grant proposals, program and grantee reports, annual report, etc.
Manage printing and production of communications materials as needed



Research and compile information, including contact reports from Salesforce, bios, etc., in preparation for all strategic and donor meetings
Generate contact reports/meeting notes and follow up with meeting participants as needed
As directed, conduct research on national and local foundations
As directed, coordinate with GBFB grant writer/external consultant on proposal research, writing, and reporting
Support event planning with internal and external partners
Research and manage event vendors
Prepare meeting materials
Attend and support events as needed
Support post-event follow-up, evaluation, and reporting
Coordinate with GBFB team as needed when collaborating on events
Strategy and Planning

Support the ED in the planning and execution of events, advocacy, and strategic outreach
Support the ED in working with external and internal partners to align strategies and actions
Coordinate with GBFB public affairs team as needed on policy and advocacy work
Help develop H2HC strategic plans
Support and maintain relationships with internal and external H2HC stakeholder organizations and grantees
Develop and support stakeholder communications including the various tools and modalities listed under ‘communications’
Represent H2HC at meetings and events as required

Ability to synthesize, organize, and manage information; multi-task; and manage tight deadlines
Ability to work effectively with a variety of organizations, internal colleagues, and external stakeholders, including senior leaders
Ability to work effectively both in person and remotely as part of a small team
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills

Mandatory Education and Experience
BA/BS, master’s preferred
Minimum of 1 to 3 years full-time professional experience
Interest in and willingness to learn about food, health, nutrition, and equity issues
Must have access to reliable personal transportation 
Digital competencies for effective usage of GBFB technologies (SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Office 365, etc.)
Physical Demands
Ability to work in an office environment
Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment
Weekly in-person meetings are required; additional meetings and events will arise and will also be in person
Travel required
