Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Position Summary
GBFB is undergoing a digital transformation so that the organization’s digital infrastructure is able to support the scale required to address our anticipated growth. The Infrastructure Engineer position is key to being able to achieve our digital transformation objectives, while supporting our current state local and cloud-based architecture. This position will manage, execute, support, and provide continuous improvement of the Greater Boston Food Bank’s (GBFB’s) corporate information technology environment by meeting user needs, adhering to performance standards and addressing GBFB’s ongoing and evolving technology direction in all facets.
Role & Responsibilities
Oversee and/or perform IT support tasks, including support, administration, upgrades, monitoring, of over 85 on prem and cloud-based applications, cisco switches, multiple SANS, etc. to ensure the maximization and service uptime of GBFB’s internal network environment.
Direct outsourced technology support vendors to track the support efforts oversee service level agreements (SLAs) are appropriately provisioned/followed in the engagement process and ensure proper cyber-security protocols are being enforced.
Enhance, maintain, and document network and end-user application programs, including, but not to be limited to 3rd party vendor services, network infrastructure, data storage, ISP bandwidth monitoring and automatic failover, data backup and recovery management, wireless access, and network security.
Develop solutions using existing and future collaboration tools to streamline or enhance team members computing environment.
Assist technology partners in managing GBFB core technology business systems including Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft 365 platforms and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Manage and update the on-going Technology Preventative Maintenance and disaster recovery programs.
Working both independently and with solution architects, proactively plan for uninterrupted and risk adverse strategies including network and applications monitoring and alerting systems.
Participate in the process of budget oversight to maintain budget control, make recommendations for technology related purchases, hardware and software warranty management and contracts SLAs.
Effectively engage with the incident owners to resolve their concerns, envision potential solutions/resolution efforts and assist in developing pro-active future technology solutions.
Perform other technology-related duties as requested.
Skills and Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of various end user computing solutions including desktops/laptops, and hand-held devices
Hands-on troubleshooting experience in cloud-based applications
Knowledgeable with network and cloud security concepts, different server technologies, SAN and virtualization technologies, system/application tuning techniques, system performance optimization, Active Directory, IAM, and vendor management [PP1] [JS2]
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and others on issues regarding technology improvements, performance, and stability.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members at all levels within the organization.
Advanced abilities to design and troubleshoot GBFB technology platforms to minimize risk and provide maximum uptime.
Strong organizational skills, time management prioritization skills and irrefutable attention to detail
Provide on-going project documentation, SOPs using GBFB approved collaboration platforms.
Possess both the ability to think and work independently while also demonstrating a collaborative approach and teamwork mentality.
Ability to work on multiple competing projects and tasks while meeting required deadlines.
Ability to use open-minded problem-solving techniques to address end user needs in part by seeing beyond the specific expressed need.
Experience building and fostering relationships across business functions.
Mandatory Education and Experience
BA/BS Degree in Business, Technology, or other relevant areas
At least 5 consistent years of related technology experience, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvements of technology platforms and high-quality customer service.
Digital competencies, including demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft (MS) 365 tools including MS Office, SharePoint, and Teams, Cloud based CRM and ERP tools, Azure, various end user computing platforms, Email cybersecurity platforms (i.e., Mimecast, Globus), Meraki Wi-Fi and network switches, VMWare, Cisco Firewalls, VPN, DNS, Data Integration tools, SQL Server, WMS Barcode scanners/printers, Zoom Meeting and Zoom Phone administration.

Work Environment
Ability to work in an office and warehouse environment and potentially working in the warehouse refrigerated or freezer areas.
Ability to work in refrigerated server room environment.
Ability to occasionally work nights or weekends to perform systems maintenance work.
This role follows a hybrid schedule working in accordance with GBFB’s hybrid work policy. Our in-office time is used primarily for team meetings and formal and informal collaboration necessary to foster and support a positive work culture. This schedule is subject to change based on the organization’s mission to end hunger.
