GBFB is considered an essential response organization in times of disaster. As such, Team Members are expected to report to GBFB locations as required, after securing the safety of their families, and may be asked to perform duties that are critical (but outside of their regularly assigned duties) in times of disaster.
Job Title: Warehouse manager
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Assistant Director of Warehousing & Logistics
Position Summary: The Warehouse Manager will coach, mentor, and supply the tools to get the best results from the team to achieve our goals and objectives. All actions and efforts will observe safety, sanitation (AIB), accuracy, and efficiency while living the GBFB values. The Warehouse Manager will be on a rotating schedule to oversee all warehouse operations on a Saturday and one evening a week to support Evening volunteer operations.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises Warehouse Associates in selecting orders, replenishing, shipping, receiving and put away while operating equipment safely and efficiently, working with customers and filling orders efficiently and accurately to ensure prompt completion.
Coach, mentor, train, and educate team members to allow them to achieve their full potential and make a strong contribution to GBFB’s efforts.
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations of the GBFB.
Plan and lead the daily operation of the warehouse, ensuring the quality and integrity of both the product and the system inventory, from point of receipt to distribution.
Responsible for supporting and passing all warehousing related regulatory audits, food safety, financial, and/or other governmental or organizational requirements.
Ensure the safety and sanitation of the warehouse, people, and contents by supporting the development of procedures (SOPs) and ensuring they are adhered to by every team member.
Achieve GBFB financial objectives by engaging plans of efficiency, retention, and cross training of team members.
Ensure AIB standards are maintained.
Meet all training deadlines and requirements as assigned.
Be on call via GBFB provided cell phone or Google phone service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Understands and utilizes warehouse metrics to assist in strategic planning.
Working knowledge of temperature sensitive food items and cold chain procedures.
Experience with work task evaluation for improvements to safety, efficiency and/or accuracy.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, training, collaboration, and conflict management.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring issues to closure.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to prioritize and be proactive.
Mandatory Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Five plus years of management experience in warehouse operations, with a strong preference for experience in a regulated environment such as food or pharmaceutical.
Digital competency, including demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Thorough understanding of ERP and WMS environments.
Knowledge of OSHA warehousing and reporting requirements.
Knowledge of GMPs, AIB, USDA and third-party audits preferred.
Demonstrates the required digital competencies that result in the effective usage of the full range of digital technologies at GBFB.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 7 hours, in a warehouse setting.
Ability to pass material handling equipment certification and operate pallet jack, forklift, reach trucks and order pickers safely.
Working with hand and powered equipment at heights up to 30′ or more above the floor.
Lifting inventory throughout the day, with inventory weighing up to 50 pounds continuously and 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work within an open air/cubicle environment.
Work is performed indoors inside the warehouse in ambient, cooler, and freezer temperatures for extended periods of time.
Noises typical in warehouse environment to include horns, backing alarms as well as flashing lights.
