ABOUT THE POSITION: The Residential Direct Care Staff (Level 1 Teacher) is responsible for the direct care and ABA instruction of students in the classroom and/or the residence. This includes knowledge and implementation of students’ clinical, educational, vocational, and daily living skills objectives. This position is an entry-level position designed for individuals interested in a career in human service, special education, and/or ABA.

  • Teaching as part of a team of professionals to maximize students’ skills and independence
  • Implementing educational programs and behavior management guidelines in 1:1 and small group formats
  • Utilizing behavior analytic teaching procedures across the classroom, community, and residential settings
  • Instructing students in general curriculum areas, communication, social skills, activities of daily living (i.e. personal hygiene), vocational, adaptive physical education, and self-preservation.
  • Diligent implementation of all medical, safety, and emergency procedures.

  • High school diploma and one-year relevant experience
  • Individuals with successful experience in a behavioral health technician position eligible to apply.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, days and one weekend day.
  • Strong interest in working with children and young adults diagnosed with autism and related special needs
  • Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Successful completion of the NECC training program including CALM.
