Applications are now being accepted for a Full-Time position with the Bedford Emergency Communication Center. The Town of Bedford is seeking individuals to work in a fast-paced combined police, fire & EMS communications center. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in Bedford’s public safety operations.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

*    Receiving and transmitting emergency calls by telephone, radio, or other signal system;
*    Relay information to police, fire and EMS responders;
*    Record keeping of all activity related to the delivery of emergency services and enters data into records management system;
*    Perform such other duties as may be assigned by appropriate authority.  

Applicants should possess a high school diploma, as well as good typing and communication skills. Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift including nights, holidays & weekends as well as overtime hours when needed, have no criminal record, have a good work history and references and be able to successfully complete required Massachusetts State Department of 911 (Academy) and departmental training.  Proficiency with Windows based programs, including Microsoft Office is required.  

Starting salary is $848.837/week, (plus additional contractual benefits.) This full-time position averages 37.5 hours per week, working a 4-2 schedule. Previous training and applicable experience preferred, however not required.
